Copacabana Mar Hotel has reduced wastage of water. The hotel also separates its garbage as well as recycles cardboard, cooking oil, cans and bottles. Bulbs that consume less energy have been installed in the restrooms and hallways have sensor switches that control lighting. The hotel has employed the local community and has also implemented the first-job project.
